Geico : Glossary of Insurance and Risk Management Terms

Glossary of Insurance and Risk Management Terms

The Glossary of Insurance and Risk Management Terms was first published by IRMI in 1978 to help those within and outside the insurance industry to communicate effectively. It has been continuously updated and expanded since the original publication and, with definitions of more than 3,200 risk and insurance terms, is probably the most comprehensive and up to date property and casualty insurance glossary or dictionary.
Use the index of defined risk management and insurance terms, the expandable table of contents on the left, or the IRMI.com search engine to find the insurance or risk management definition you need.
Also be sure to check out the insurance acronyms and abbreviations where nearly 1,000 insurance abbreviations are defined.
Your use of this glossary ratifies your acceptance of the IRMI.com Terms of Use.

Contribute to the Glossary

Your help in improving and expand this insurance glossary will be greatly appreciated. Suggest a new term and definitionor a material improvement to an existing definition. If we use it, we will list you on the online contributors page (if you desire) and include a valuable link to your website (this link may improve the search engine ranking of your website).

Add the Glossary Index to Your Website

Would you like to provide visitors to your website with access to these glossary definitions and populate your site with important keywords that may help your site's ranking in the search engines? We've prepared an index of the most important insurance and risk management terms that you may include on your website. This index will then link to the definitions in IRMI.com. Learn how to link to the IRMI Glossary.
